The event, which supports the school's technology department, will run from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 13 at the school, 22844 Weeks Blvd in Lutz.
Admission is $7 for preschoolers, $15 for school-age children, and parents are free. The price covers all activities, which include:
- face painting five slides and bounces
- lazer tag
- 32-foot trailer from Games 2U filled with Xbox and Playstation games
- nine-hole mini golf
- carnival style games with prizes
- hairspray booth
Aaron Klingebiel, a student at Weightman Middle School student, was recently diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor. A fundraiser is being held to help his family with his medical expenses. The event kicks off at 4:30 pm. with "tailgating," which includes $5 chicken dinners, facepainting, a cake walk and a silent auction. A performance by Kirsten Joyer and Mainstream will begin at 7 p.m. Concert tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the event.
The benefit will be held at the Wesley Chapel Performing Arts Center, 30652 Wells Road.
Saturday, April 14
Learning Gate Community School is hosting its third annual EcoFest 2012 on April 14 on the school grounds at 16215 Hanna Road in Lutz. The event will be open to the public from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m., and admission is free.
The event includes:
- live music
- informational booths
- green living products and services from local artists
Land O’ Lakes Patch will have a table set up with games and goodies. Stop by and say hello!
Owners Larry and Cindi Giannone will host a free grand opening cook-out from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 14 at 23650 Venezia Drive.
The community is invited to stop by for hamburgers, hot dogs and refreshments. Twenty free oil changes will be given away in a raffle, and there will be door prizes as well.
