Man Found Dead in Wesley Chapel Pond

Breaking: Pasco County deputies say a man was found in a pond early Monday morning.

WESLEY CHAPEL, FL β€” The body of an 87-year-old man was found early Monday morning in a Wesley Chapel pond.

According to the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office, the apparent drowning death is under investigation. Even so, deputies do not believe foul play is involved.

The sheriff’s office received a call that William Wolter was missing from his caretaker’s home in the 30700 block of Tremont Drive around 3:17 a.m. Wolter’s body was found in a nearby pond a short time later, an email from the agency said.

Deputies say Wolter had recently moved here from Georgia and had said he wanted to go home. Wolter suffered from Alzheimer’s disease, the sheriff’s office noted.
