Republican Chris Nocco will serve a full four-year term in office.

Nocco Wins Pasco Sheriff’s Race

The voters have decided. Pasco County Sheriff Chris Nocco will keep his job.

Nocco was appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to fill out the term of former Sheriff Bob White when he retired in 2011. Tonight’s results mean that Nocco will get to serve his first full term in office.

Nocco, a Republican, faced Democrat Kim Bogart in the race for Pasco’s top cop. Bogart is a former Pasco County Sheriff’s Office major who has decades’ of experience in law enforcement. He ran in 2008 against White, but lost by 4,002 votes.

In today’s race, Nocco received 125,934 votes or 65.11 percent of the ballots cast with 105 of 110 precincts reporting in. Bogart garnered 67,493 votes or   34.89 percent.

Results are considered unofficial until they are certified by the state of Florida.
