Largo Teen Injured In Apparent Accidental Shooting
The 16-year-old Largo boy was struck in the left hand, police say.

LARGO, FL — The Largo Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred Tuesday afternoon on Starkey Road.
According to the agency, it received a call just after 1 p.m. from a 16-year-old boy who said he had shot himself in the left hand. Officers and emergency crews responded to the 900 block of Starkey Road and transported the teen to an area hospital for treatment.
The wound, police wrote in an email to media, is not life threatening.

While the case remains under active investigation, authorities say the incident is believed to be accidental at this time.
