Man Caught Stealing Mail, Largo Police Say
The man was caught swiping mail from a drop box outside the Largo Post Office, police say.

LARGO, FL – A 33-year-old Pinellas County man faces criminal charges after Largo Police and the U.S. Postal Service conducted a late-night surveillance operation at the Largo Post Office Friday.
It seems authorities suspected someone was stealing mail from the drop box located outside the 50 8th Ave. S.W. post office. Authorities say their investigation revealed Gustavo Eduardo Nunez Suarez visited “the drop box on at least eight previous occasions and accessed its contents by defeating the security,” an email from the police department said. On Friday night, police noted, Suarez returned and was “apprehended by detectives (while) in the act of compromising the box.”
Suarez was charged with felony scheme to defraud for allegedly depositing a $4,000 check he is accused of taking from the box. He also faces federal charges, police noted.
