Paramedics Say Medical Problem Led To Fatal Crash In Seminole

A 78-year-old man died Friday, March 30, when he experienced a medical problem and lost control of his car on Park Boulevard.

SEMINOLE, FL – A 78-year-old man died Friday, March 30, when he experienced a medical problem and lost control of his car on Park Boulevard.

According to investigators with the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, James Moriarty Jr. was driving his 2006 Nissan Sentra east on Park Boulevard at 4:17 p.m. when he may have lost consciousness. He drove over the raised concrete barrier into the westbound lanes of Park Boulevard, then onto a curb and sidewalk, through a yard, hitting a mailbox and two fences in the process.

After striking a third fence, the Nissan hit a large tree, causing the car to spin into an unoccupied Ford F150 pickup truck parked in the driveway of 11635 Park Blvd., Seminole.

Paramedics took Moriarty to the Largo Medical Center Main Campus where he was pronounced dead shortly after.
