Sinkhole Closes Lake Park

Residents hoping to pay Hillsborough County’s Lake Park a visit will want to change their plans.

The county announced Wednesday morning the 17302 N. Dale Mabry Highway park has closed “due to a confirmed sinkhole on one of the main roads.” The hole is estimated to be about 90 feet deep and 6 feet across, an email from the county stated.

The entire park will remain closed until the hole can be remediated, the county said. It is unclear just how long that will take.
