Father of Toddler Tied Up During Home Invasion

Miami-Dade police are looking for two suspects in a silver BMW.

MIAMI — A 30-year old father was tied up on Thursday and held at gunpoint when two men broke into his home in the 6300 block of S.W. 139 Court.

Marco Gamez was taking care of his two-year-old daughter at the time of the home invasion shortly before noon, according to Miami-Dade police.

He heard a noise coming from downstairs and tried to find out what it was.

"The victim opened the bedroom door to investigate and was confronted by two subjects, one of them armed with a firearm," explained Detective Robin Pinkard of the Miami-Dade police. "The subjects ordered the victim back into his room where he was tied up."

Pinkard said that one of the men stood watch over Gamez while the other ransacked the home.

"The subjects fled in a silver BMW with an undetermined amount of property," Pinkard added. The car is believed to be a BMW 330i.

Neither Gamez or his daughter were injured during the armed robbery.

Police are asking for the public's help in identifying the suspects.

One of the suspects is described as a white male, approximately 30-35 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches tall, 200 pounds, while the other is described as a white male, 30-35 years of age, 6 feet tall and 175 pounds.
