Miami Auto Body Shop Catches Fire

Several vehicles inside the business posed a safety concern for firefighters.

MIAMI, FL — An auto body shop and warehouse with several vehicles inside caught fire early Wednesday morning.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue responded to the tw0-alarm blaze at 5:22 a.m. The business is located at 5357 NW 35 Ct.

"The warehouse structure had several vehicles inside," Erika Benitez of Miami-Dade Fire Rescue told Patch. "When firefighters arrived, they saw heavy black smoke billowing from the building. They quickly began an attack and shortly after they were able to put the fire under control."

Benitez said gasoline in the vehicles is always a concern for firefighters in such fires.

"These types of fires are a safety challenge for firefighters," Benitez added. "Thanks to the quick and skilled actions of the fire crews, the structure was saved and there were no injuries reported."
