The Intruder set off an alarm at the home.

MIAMI — An intruder was shot by a homeowner on Tuesday morning after he was apparently caught trying to break into the man’s home in the unit block of N.E. 42 Street.

The incident occurred at about 6:30 a.m., according to Miami police.

“The homeowner of the property was asleep and his alarm went off. He didn’t really think that much of it,” explained Miami Officer Christopher Best, who told Patch that the homeowner subsequently went to investigate.
