WATCH NOW: Multiple Explosions Fuel Massive Truck Fire

The Opa-Locka blaze quickly grew to 2 alarms with more than 25 firefighting units on the scene.

OPALOCKA, FL — Miami-Dade firefighters battled a massive truck fire around 4:30 p.m. on Monday as flames appeared to engulf multiple truck trailers.

Erika Benitez of Miami-Dade Fire Rescue told Patch around 5:15 p.m. that there had been multiple explosions at the site of the two-alarm blaze.

The blaze was declared under control at around 5:30 p.m. but not before it had snarled traffic in the surrounding area of NW 135th Street and NW 42nd Avenue and even disrupted air traffic at the nearby Miami-Opa Locka Executive Airport.

"No injuries were reported given the massive size of the fire," Benitez told Patch. "We had over 25 units on scene. One of those units was the foam truck that was out of the Miami-Opa Locka Executive Airport."

Officials were still investigating what caused the fire.
