Trucks Burst Into Flames As Miami Area Hunkers Down

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue says that it will continue to respond to fires until winds reach 50 miles per hour.

MEDLEY, FL — Two tractor trailers burst into flames on Saturday as the Miami area hunkered down ahead of the expected arrival of Hurricane Irma. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue put out the blaze. No one was injured. First responders said that the fire did not appear to be related to the deteriorating weather conditions.

"At about 1:48 this afternoon MDFR responded to a fire call involving a tractor trailer truck fire," Lt. Felipe Lay of Miami-Dade Fire Rescue told Patch.

He said that the fire involved two vehicles. He said that the fire appeared to be electrical in nature.
