The Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Marine Patrol Bureau has two operational fireboats that are staffed 24 hours per day.
"Upon arrival a 60-foot motor yacht was on fire, fully involved, docked behind a house," according to Benitez.
The department plans to add three additional Rapid Rescue Vessels (RRV) along the coastline of Miami-Dade County and three airboats for improved response time in the Florida Everglades.
