Solar Loan ProblemsFLORIDA — Searching for how to get out of a solar contract in Florida? Maybe your solar payment went up, your electric bill never fell, the installer disappeared, or a buyer will not take over the agreement when you sell your home. Before you cancel payments or sign another document, find out whether you have a solar loan, solar lease, or power purchase agreement (PPA). Your options depend on that distinction.Free Solar Contract Review: (888) 201-0441
Can I cancel a solar contract after signing? Some qualifying sales made at home or another covered location have a short cancellation period. Not every agreement qualifies, and deadlines can pass quickly. Find the signed contract, cancellation notice, financing documents, and the date and location of the sale. If you signed recently, review the required cancellation procedure immediately.
How can I get out of a solar lease or PPA? Look for the agreement’s buyout price, prepayment option, early termination terms, equipment removal provisions, and rules for transferring the contract to a homebuyer. If the salesperson promised a fixed payment, guaranteed savings, or an easy transfer that the written terms do not support, keep the advertisement, proposal, text messages, and emails. A dispute over misrepresentation or how the contract was signed may require a different approach from a standard buyout.
Stuck with a solar loan? Compare the cash price with the amount financed. Check whether dealer fees were included, when the payment changes, and whether the sales pitch assumed you would apply a tax credit to the loan. If the panels were never completed, do not work, or the solar company went out of business, document the installation status and every attempt to get help from the installer and lender.
What happens if I stop paying my solar loan? Missing payments does not automatically end a solar contract. It may lead to collections, credit reporting, or a lawsuit. Get the payment terms and any dispute reviewed before deciding what to do.
Is a solar company suing you in Florida? Keep the summons, complaint, envelope, and service date. Court response deadlines matter, even when you believe the contract was unfair or the system failed.
