Palm Harbor Man In Wheelchair Dies After Falling Into Pool

The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office is investigating the drowning of a Palm Harbor man on New Year's Eve.

PALM HARBOR, FL -- The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office is investigating the drowning of a Palm Harbor man on New Year's Eve.

According to the sheriff's office, deputies responded to the drowning death of Terry Chambers, 68, of the 3800 block of Berkshire Court in Palm Harbor at 4:30 p.m. Dec. 31.

Deputies say Chambers fell into the pool while in his wheelchair, and was unresponsive. After attempting to resuscitate him, paramedics pronounced Chambers dead at the scene.

Chambers' wife and caretaker were at the home when he fell into the water but were unable to rescue him.

Deputies say the drowning does not appear to be suspicious.
