The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office says a man who they've identified as the suspect in the Father's Day armed robbery at a Palm Harbor Publix has been arrested in South Carolina on different charges.
Detectives identified the suspect as 37-year-old Chad William Carlton. They say Carlton had at least a dozen outstanding warrants for his arrest in two states.
Eleven of the warrants are from North Carolina for violation of probation and robbery. He was also wanted on one outstanding warrant for bank robbery in Georgia.
Williams was arrested in Greenville, SC.
Pinellas County detectives say they will obtain an arrest warrant in Williams' name for the Publix robbery.
Earlier this week, detectives asked for the public's help identifying the man who used a gun to threaten two clerks at the Publix at 33343 U.S. 19.
The incident occurred about 9:35 a.m. on Father's Day. The man took off with an undisclosed amount of cash. No one was hurt during the robbery.
