Madeira Beach to Celebrate City Centre Grand Opening

The 14-acre complex had its soft opening earlier this year, but the official celebration is Friday.

The City of Madeira Beach is pulling out all the stops for its official grand opening of the new City Centre complex Friday night.

While the 14-acre complex had a soft opening earlier this year, the city, along with dignitaries from around the county, are celebrating with a grand opening at 5 p.m. Friday at 300 Municipal Drive.

The new waterside complex houses city hall, the council chambers and the fire station. The complex is also home to ball fields, biking, running and walking paths, parkland, a memorial garden and more. A permanent stage and concert area was also included in design.

The complex’s master plan was designed by Wannemacher Jensen.

Wannemacher’s Jason Jensen said the experience was “an incredible opportunity to weave together large multi-use public space with core civic activity. Highly functional municipal structures blend with parkland and recreation to form a community complex that fosters new relationships between public space and public service.”

Grand opening celebrations are expected to include a ribbon cutting. The festivities will continue until 7 p.m.
