Man Found Dead Outside Doctors Hospital Identified

The identification found on the man's body doesn't appear to be his.

The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a man found on the loading dock in the back of Doctors Hospital early Monday morning.

According to the agency, the man was found around 2:30 a.m. The identification on the man’s body, deputies noted in an email to media, did not appear to be his. That situation created a problem for deputies in trying to identify the man. By Monday afternoon, however, the agency released the man’s name: Jason Crady, 38.

Deputies say Crady had a last known address of 4786 Sloan Ave. in Sarasota.

Crady’s body was found by a woman who walked into the Marathon gas station on Bee Ridge Road and told the clerk about the body. The clerk called 911, the sheriff’s office reported.

The sheriff’s office says the cause of death remains unknown pending an autopsy by the Medical Examiner’s Office. Deputies did say there were no visible signs of injury on Crady’s body.
