SARASOTA, FL – The Center for Building Hope is holding  an Open House on Tuesday, May 6, from 11:00am to 3pm, and will showcase its free programs and services on its five acre campus in Lakewood Ranch -- a “healing environment” for adults, children, couples and families in the community.

When an individual or family member is impacted by cancer, the Center for Building Hope provides a place where they can go, people they can talk to and activities they can participate in to build their bodies and spirits.

The Showcase Open House is part of the Community Foundation of Sarasota County and its Giving Partner Challenge.  The event will highlight several programs provided by the Center along with demonstrations of:

·         Yoga

·         Watercolor

·         Qigong

·         Pottery for Beginners

·         Stitch and Chat

·         Massage for Two

·         Expressive Writing

·         Network Support Groups

·         Bridal Gown Models

·         Newcomer Orientation

"Our energetic and compassionate staff will be available to answer questions and show visitors how we improve the quality of life of those dealing with a cancer diagnosis through exercise, education, social activities and support,” said Andrea Feldmar, Program Director.  “Our participants have logged in 32,000 hours in visits annually  and we want to provide even more support in 2014."
