Christmas Tree Pick-Up Schedule Set For The Holidays

Unincorporated Sarasota will have its trees picked up this week. Remember to remove your lights and decorations.

Christmas Tree Pick-Up Schedule Set For The Holidays

Sarasota County will pick up Christmas trees in the unincorporated county after the holiday.

Residents can put trees at the curb for collection. They should put trash on one side of the driveway, and recycling, yard waste and Christmas trees on the other. Decorations and lights should be removed, and trees taller than 6 feet should be cut in half. The county will later mulch the trees.

There will be no collection in the unincorporated areas of the county on Christmas, Dec. 25, or New Year's Day, Jan 1.

Monday collection on Dec. 24 and Dec. 31 will be done as usual.

Residents whose regular collection day is Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday of the holiday week will have their garbage, yard waste, and recyclables collection delayed one day; normal Tuesday collection will move to Wednesday, Wednesday to Thursday, Thursday to Friday, and Friday to Saturday.
