Supervisor Of Elections Kathy Dent will return for another term.
Dent has won the Supervisor Of Elections race against challenger County Commissioner Jon Thaxton, who decided to run for the office after
Dent told The Herald-Tribune she is grateful for the win:
“I’m feeling very grateful to the voters,” Dent said. “I’m one of those individuals where I believe God is in control.”
Because there is no Democrat challenger, the race was decided during the Aug. 14 primary.
Dent has received 74.53 percent of the vote, or 21,177 total votes. Thaxton received 25.47 percent of the votes, or 7,238 votes.
