Obituary: Katherine O. Pascoe, 90 of Bradenton

Kathy Pascoe died on Jan. 20, 2013, in Bradenton.

She was born on March 25, 1922, in Bay Village, Ohio, to a farmer, Will Krumwiede, and his wife Amie Hunt Krumwiede, who immigrated to the United States from England.

Though she endured tragedy when her sister Martha and youngest son James each died in middle age, her long life was filled with a passion for books, classical music, gardening and travel.

Her interest in travel began during World War II when she accompanied her first husband, Walt Thomas, to various training assignments prior to his deployment to India with the Army Air Corps. It continued when he was re-called to active duty with the Air Force for the Korean Conflict and was assigned to Germany. She traveled extensively in Europe and England.

Kathy and family would eventually settle in Florida where she spent the last half-century of her life.

With second husband Leslie Pascoe, Kathy operated Pascoe Concessions—a string of beach concessions along the Gulf coast.

She also served on the board of the Florida West Coast Symphony (now Sarasota Orchestra) and as a hospice volunteer.

Kathy is survived by sons Randy (Charlotte) & Dan (Denise), grandchildren Kim (Darrell) and Kevin (Louisa), great-grandchildren Amber, Olivia, and Emily and Eleanor and an extended family of loving relatives and dear friends.

In lieu of flowers the family asks to donate in Kathy's name to:
