VERIZON NETWORK EARNS TOP HONORS IN FLORIDA, NATION

VERIZON NETWORK EARNS TOP HONORS IN FLORIDA, NATION

Verizon Wireless has earned top honors across Florida in a comprehensive study of wireless service by independent testing firm RootMetrics.

Verizon posted the highest ranking in the Overall category, and in  the sub-categories of Call, Data, Reliability and Speed.

The results were part of a RootMetrics national study of major wireless carriers, which showed Verizon dominating the competition.  Verizon won the national Overall category and was the Overall winner in 46 out of 50 states.

According to RootMetrics: “At the end of the day, however, numbers don’t lie: Verizon owns national bragging rights in our RootScore Awards, sweeping our Overall, Call, Data, and Text categories. With vast LTE coverage and consistently strong performances across our testing, Verizon also finished on top in our Reliability Index, making Verizon the nation’s most reliable network in our national results.”

In the extensive study, RootMetrics teams drove 218,000 miles in markets large and small, as well as testing inside 6,300 buildings.  Test devices were running for more than 20,000 hours, logging millions of calls, texts, connections and other data points.

Additional details on the research can be found at www.rootmetrics.com.

“We devote immense resources to provide the very best network performance and customer experience, and we’re pleased this intensive, independent testing again validates that these efforts and investments are working for our customers,” said Mariano Legaz, Florida region president for Verizon Wireless.

In 2013, Verizon invested $9.4 billion in its wireless network nationally.  In Florida over that same time period, the company activated more than 1,000 new 4G LTE sites and completed numerous other major network enhancements.

Launched throughout numerous state markets in late 2010, Verizon 4G LTE technology now covers 99 percent of Floridians.

This year Verizon is scheduled to further enhance wireless performance in Florida with the rollout of advancements such as AWS spectrum, Voice Over LTE (VoLTE) and other technologies.
