In the midst of an often sweltering winter, Tampa Bay Beer Week might be just the elixir local brew lovers are seeking. 

The event officially runs from Saturday to March 10, and spans several taverns, microbrewers, and restaurants across the bay area. But Seminole Heights' is getting a jump on things at 5 p.m. today by debuting two new beers and offering a tour of their facility at 4101 N Florida Ave. For $10, guests get a tour, samples of Copperhead Ale and Betchy Brown, and commemorative glass. 

Cold Storage will throw another One Year Anniversary Party at 5 p.m. March 9, featuring new brews Copperhead Ale and Reserve #2. Ten dollars gets you the glass and three samples.

On Saturday at 2 p.m., the will host "Chain Links and Craft Drinks," a beer and bicycling enthusiasts' event. Jordan Miller — a part-time Independent bar tender and owner of bicycle shop — will host Goldsprints stationary bike competitions, and give a free bike repair clinic. Beer specials will include $4 half liters and $8 liters of Spaten Optimator and Spaten Pilsner. 

At 6 p.m. on Tuesday, the Independent will also host Palm and Chimay Pint Night, with free logo glasses with purchases of those brews. At 2 p.m. on March 11, the Independent will also have Sour Beer Big Bottle Sunday, featuring Rodenbach Flanders Red Ales and other sours.
