Two Major Food Events in Central Tampa this Weekend

Seminole Heights is sure to be the culinary hot spot this weekend as two events are set to titillate the taste buds of everyone who joins in the foodie fun.

First up on Saturday is the second in the parking lot of Christ Fellowship of Tampa at 300 E. Sligh Ave. .

Around 30 food trucks will bring cuisine on wheels to this church parking lot for a fun gathering from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The blog Tasting Tampa described September's Food Truck Rally in Hyde Park this way: "Expect a variety of flavors, like Wicked ‘Wiches’ awesome sandwiches, 3 Ballers Traveling Bistro’s gourmet fare, Michelle Faedo’s famous Deviled Crab & Cubans, and much more. ... Live music, home-baked desserts, free child care and a nice shaded parking lot to enjoy it in. What’s not to love?"

There's no cover charge to join in, but bring cash to pay for food items.

On Sunday, get your walking shoes on for the . This event begins at 12:30 p.m. at the corner of North Nebraska Avenue and East Chelsea Street.

The Southeast Seminole Heights Civic Association presents guests with a stroll from house to house, a shady bistro seating and diverse cuisine from local eateries and home cooks.

The $20 tour features eight stops, each featuring a light-portion, three-course meal with an appetizer or salad, entree and sweet treat for dessert. Beer and wine also will be included. Restaurants returning from 2010's event include , the , , the and the .

Guests can enjoy live music from singer/songwriter Rob Irie and the Seminole Heights-based band Genghis Flan.

Free parking will be available where the tour begins. Tour maps will be provided at the hospitality tent.

Ticket sales are limited; if available on the day of the event, they can be purchased at the welcome tent.
