TAMPA, FL — A Clearwater man died Tuesday morning after suffering a medical emergency while driving along an Interstate 275 exit ramp to Interstate 4 and crashing his pickup truck, Florida Highway Patrol said in a news release.
The 65-year-old man was heading north along the exit ramp from I-275 north to eastbound I-4 when he lost control of his Chevy pickup truck during a medical incident around 7:45 a.m.
This caused him to crash into the back of the Mazda SUV, driven by a 21-year-old Thonotosassa woman, that was ahead of him, FHP said.
