Fire At Tampa Yacht Club Forces Evacuation Of 27 Horses
A fire at the Tampa Yacht and Country Club maintenance building forced the evacuation of 27 horses from the stables.
TAMPA, FL -- A fire at the Tampa Yacht and Country Club maintenance building forced the evacuation of 27 horses from the stables.
Tampa Fire Rescue were called to the fire at the yacht club, 5320 Interbay Blvd. in South Tampa, at 10:20 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18.
Upon arriving, firefighters found flames shooting through the roof of the club's newly built 100- by 20-foot masonry maintenance building where lawn and other maintenance equipment is stored.

The horse stables are located adjacent to the maintenance building so the 27 horses were evacuated to ensure their safety.
Firefighters were able to get the fire under control by 10:45 p.m. There were no injuries.

Investigators from the fire marshal's office are investigating the cause of the fire.
