Tampa Military Families Can Register For Free School Supplies

Operation Homefront is sponsoring the event through its Back-to-School Brigade.

TAMPA, FL – Many people are familiar with Operation Homefront and the work they do to support the military. However, a good bit of their work also involves helping military families as well.

The families of junior enlisted military personnel and disabled veterans of all ranks in the Tampa area can receive free school supplies from the Operation Homefront Back-to-School Brigade.

The national nonprofit organization will distribute hundreds of backpacks and assorted school supplies on Saturday, Aug. 6 at Grow Financial Federal Credit Union, 9927 Delaney Lake Drive in Tampa.

Military families who would like to receive the school supplies must preregister for the event at www.operationhomefront.net/event/list.

Operation Homefront was founded shortly after Sept. 11, 2001, with the mission of building strong, stable and secure military families so they can thrive in the communities in which they live. Recognized for its superior performance by independent charity oversight groups, 92 percent of Operation Homefront’s expenditures go directly to programs that provide support to military families.
