Fire Rips Through Town 'N Country Storage Facility

An estimated $800,000 in damage was done to the building during the Monday fire.

TAMPA, FL — A Monday fire at a Town ‘N Country storage facility caused an estimated $800,000 in damage, according to Hillsborough County Fire Rescue.

The agency said it received reports about smoke coming from the 8421 Hillsborough Ave. storage facility Monday around 6:30 a.m. When firefighters arrived on the scene, they found heavy flames and smoke coming from the 19,350-square-foot building.

Twenty units responded to the two-alarm fire, which was ultimately contained to Building E, the agency said. An estimated 150 storage units suffered fire, smoke and/or water damage.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
