Patch Staff Report

The Acworth Downtown Development Authority will be hosting its next free Small Business Seminar on Wednesday, April 9 at City Hall in the Council Chambers.

Andy Fried from the Kennesaw State University Small Business Development Center will be presenting: Evaluating Your Company's Financial Health.

Evaluating a company's financial health is an essential skill for all business owners. Learn the fundamentals of financial analysis, with instruction on reading financial statements and understanding financial ratios. Find out what the numbers really mean and start developing practical strategies for improving your company's performance.

Instruction includes discussion on financial scorecards, dashboards and benchmarks that quickly and easily inform company personnel on financial performance. All attendees receive a scorecard template in Microsoft Excel format.

The seminar will be from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. For more information contact Jeff Chase at jchase@acworth.org or call 770-917-1234.

Fried has more than 20 five years experience in the financial, retail and real estate sectors. Before moving to Atlanta where he became an owner, manager and agent of commercial real estate properties, Fried was the president and owner of a retail business with locations throughout the New York tri-state area.

Fried, who was recently named Georgia Small Business Consultant of the Year for 2013, is a CPA and holds a Georgia real estate license.
