Milton's first ever paint recycling event will be held on Saturday, Feb. 11, rain, snow or shine from 1-5 p.m., with Boy Scouts of America Troop 3000 and Milton Grows Green as sponsors.

Local residents–but no commercial customers–can bring their empty, nearly empty or even full cans of paint to the Boy Scouts of America Troop 3000 Scout Compound, 15770 Birmingham Highway Milton GA 30004 (east of by Birmingham crossroads and teepee).

The costs are $15 for the first 10 cans of latex or oil based paint (in their original containers) and $2 for each additional can above 10. The fees will be shared between Troop 3000 and the paint recycling company, Williams Paint Recycling. Cash and checks will be accepted.

Williams has been recycling paint in the greater Atlanta area for more than two years. Paint is recycled into new paint offered in several standard colors by Amazon Paint Recycling Co., and sold for commercial applications by Williams.

People can clear out their basements and garages and help out some good causes: a local Boy Scout troop and the environment. For information, email mgg@cityofmiltonga.us or check the city’s website.
