Just a few days past Halloween local residents can spend some time in a cemetery, but scares aren't part of the visit. The first Resthaven Cemetery tours will be held on Saturday, Nov. 3.

You can meet Alpharetta's historic figures on a candlelight tour and learn about Alpharetta and Old Milton County as you walk through downtown Alpharetta to the historic cemetery.

Resthaven Cemetery Tours

  • Saturday, Nov. 3
  • 4:30 p.m., 6 p.m. & 7:30 p.m.
  • Starting at Smokejack BBQ

The tour starts with dinner at the old Louie Jones Funeral Home location – better known today as Smokejack BBQ.

"From there you will be escorted through downtown and no telling who you might run into," it says in the Alpharetta Convention and Visitors Bureau release about the tours.

Tours are free – not dinner – but you must make reservations via email ( julie@awesomealpharetta.com) or by calling 678-297-2811. Tours depart from Smokejack BBQ at 29 South Main St and end at Resthaven Cemetery. Each tour will be limited to 40 people, so confirm your reservation early.

City of Alpharetta, Alpharetta Historical Society, Alpharetta Convention and Visitors Bureau, and Atlanta Theater-To-Go will host this first ever Resthaven Cemetery Tour in Alpharetta.
