Clean Car Campaign Reminder: 6 Heart of Buckhead Break-ins
The Atlanta Police Department often reminds residents to follow the rules of its Clean Car Campaign and to never leave valuables in your car in plain sight.

The owners of six vehicles broken into this week in Buckhead have certainly been reminded. According to Atlanta police, thieves broke into the vehicles late Monday night along the 3300 block of Peachtree Road.

The crimes occurred outside the Charles Schwab Buckhead branch, but the victims were more than likely residents and visitors of a nearby condominium who use the parking spots at night. Each vehicle suffered damage and was broken into according Officer John Chafee.

Among the items removed included electronic devices and personal bags that were discarded close by. While three cars were apparently ‘clean’ and had nothing taken, loose change was also targeted by the thieves.

There are no known suspects at the time and the investigation continues.

Reminds APD: “Keeping a Clean Car means making sure all items such as tablet computers, laptops, cell phones, purses, wallets and other valuables are removed when your vehicle is unattended. Leave those valuables at home, or lock them in the trunk. By doing this, you can prevent one of the most common crimes; theft of property from motor vehicles.”
