You and your kids can show your Irish spirit with special St. Patrick's Day events this weekend.

  • LUCK OF THE IRISH DROP-IN CRAFT
    When/where:  , 269 Buckhead Ave N.E., noon-3 p.m. Saturday.
    Why go: Elementary age children can make an Irish craft with mom and dad.

  • FIND THE HIDDEN LEPRECHAUN
    When/where:  
    2900 Peachtree Road, 11 a.m. Saturday.
    Why go: Children can read "Hooray for St. Patrick's Day" by Joan Holub and Paul Meisel, lifting paper flaps to find a hidden leprechaun. There will also be holiday crafts, traditional Irish food and a play about St. Patrick.

  • ST. PATRICK'S DAY PARADE
    When/where:  
    Noon Saturday, downtown Atlanta.
    Why go: The Irish will be smiling at Atlanta's 129th St. Patrick's Day Parade since 1858. The marshal is Paul Gleeson, consul general of the new, Buckhead-based Irish consulate. The parade's route is Peachtree Street at Ralph McGill, down Peachtree past Woodruff Park, left on Decatur, right on Pryor ending at an Underground Atlanta Festival where there will be free entertainment.

  • FIND INSPIRATION FROM EUDORA WELTY
    When/where:  
    Noon-5 p.m Sunday, .
    Why go: You can celebrate the literary and photographic talents of the great Mississippi writer Eudora Welty with family workshops and tours of the exhibition "Eudora Welty: Exposures and Reflections." Families can write their own Southern narratives and learn to create their own Eudora Welty-inspired photographs.
    Pricing: Free with museum admission. Free for museum members. 
  • TODDLER THURSDAYS AT HIGH MUSEUM
    When/where:  11 a.m.-3 p.m. Thursday, Greene Education Center, High Museum.
    Why go: This week's letter is J, and the theme is Jewelry With Jazz.  Each child will craft a bejeweled crown that fits his or her personality.
    Pricing: Free with museum admission. Free for museum members.
