Open & Shut Buckhead: Container Store Moves, New Openings at Phipps

Get out to The Container Store this weekend before it closes on Sunday to move from its current location at the corner of Piedmont and Peachtree roads. Right now, the entire store is on sale at 30 percent off or more.

It will open its new store on Nov. 10 near Phipps Plaza at the intersection of Peachtree and Wieuca roads. During the Grand Opening Weekend, the store will donate 10 percent of the new store's proceeds to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, according to its website.

Its current location, opened in 1991, was the first outside of Texas, where the company is based, according to What Now Atlanta. The blog says the new location will be a two-level, 28,000-foot store with more than 10,000 organizational products.

New at Phipps Plaza, according to its website:

Everything But Water, one of the largest swimwear retailers in the U.S., is now open in a space on the first floor in the Belk wing.

Rebecca Taylor, a New Zealand-based women's retail shop, opened on the first floor near Starbucks in September.

YEBO Restaurant & Bar also opened in the plaza in September. The restaurant offers South African fare to show the heritage of its owner Justin Anthony, whose  10 Degrees South restaurant has been a Buckhead mainstay for the last 14 years.

Omega, the prestigious Swiss watch brand, opened in October, on level one near Starbucks. The watch brand has been around since 1848, and has produced the "moon watch" since 1969. HubLot, another luxury Swiss watch brand, also opened in October.

Brookstone, which has a full store at neighboring Lenox Square, opened its 2012 Holiday location at Phipps this week. The store is located on the second floor, Monarch Court.
