UPDATE: Tornado Watch Canceled

More rain expected this evening.

UPDATE: Tornado Watch Canceled

UPDATED at 5 p.m.

The National Weather Service has canceled the tornado watch that was in effect for Gwinnett County.

The Daculaweather.com forecast indicates a 100 percent chance of precipitation with rainfall amounts up to two inches possible. The chance for thunderstorms continues into the evening, with the possibility of some severe storms.

In the event of severe weather, officials advise seeking shelter in the lowest or most central portion of the structure. Avoid exterior walls, doors or glass windows until the storm passes.  Citizens should avoid contact with downed power lines and call 911 to report damage. Officials also suggest charging cell phones ahead of time and having a flashlight, portable AM/FM radio, and extra batteries on hand.
