Blaze Ignites At Cherokee Co. Gas Station
A passenger van was swallowed by fire that extended to the canopy and gas pumps, fire officials said.

WALESKA — A Valero gas station near the intersection of Reinhardt College Parkway and Fincher Road caught fire Monday afternoon, the Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services Department said.
Firefighters responded around 3:30 p.m. to the gas station, where they found a passenger van swallowed by fire that was extending to the canopy and gas pumps, fire officials said.
The emergency stop switch for the pumps was activated, and the fire was quickly extinguished, fire officials said. No one was injured in the fire.

The gas pumps are temporarily shut down, but the store remains open, fire officials said. The cause of the fire is undetermined.
