Body Of Missing Cherokee Woman, Car Recovered From Lake

Laura Ann Linden, 65, went missing Saturday from Lake Arrowhead.

LAKE ARROWHEAD, GA — The body of a missing Cherokee County woman was found inside of a car that was pulled from a lake Wednesday morning, authorities said.

Authorities had been searching for 65-year-old Laura Ann Linden since she went missing Saturday night, according to the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office.

The Lake Arrowhead resident was supposed to be attending a party but authorities said she never arrived to the party.

Deputies were called to the area near Peninsula Way Tuesday night after it was reported there was a car possibly in Lake Arrowhead, authorities said. Deputies did not find a car but located evidence near the water's edge that indicated a car had possibly entered the lake, authorities said.

They returned to the area Wednesday morning with the Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services Dive Team and discovered the car in the lake, authorities said.

No foul play is suspected in Linden's death, authorities said.

The manner and cause of death were not released.
