Person Escapes Vehicle Fire Near Cherokee Hospital

CANTON, GA — A person is safe after a vehicle fire Thursday afternoon near Northside Hospital - Cherokee, fire officials said in a news release.

Firefighters responded around noon to the Northside Cherokee Boulevard fire, Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services said.

The occupant had already escaped the burning 2010 BMW with the help of another driver, fire officials said, noting the occupant had no injuries.

Northside Cherokee was shut down both ways while crews worked to extinguish the fire, officials said. The cause of the fire is unknown.
