As you get back into the groove of the work week, Canton-Sixes Patch will keep you updated on what's happening this week in Canton:
  • The Canton Main Street Program will hold its monthly meeting at 8 a.m. Tuesday at Canton Fire Department's headquarters at 190 West Main Street. This month's session will feature Fire Chief Dean Floyd, who will discuss fire inspections.
  • The annual MLK Unity Breakfast, hosted by Cherokee County and Allen Temple AME Church, will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday Jan. 18 at the Northside Hospital-Cherokee Conference Center. The event is free and open to the public.
  • For all you procrastinators, you can still recycle your Christmas tree! Stop by Hobgood Park or Sequoyah Park between now and Jan. 31 to recycle those trees.
  • Project Valentine is asking residents to donate candy and toiletries items that will be distributed to senior citizens at two nursing facilities.
  • The  Sequoyah Regional Library System has a slew of story time activities set for this week at its Cherokee County libraries.
