20th Century Fox will begin filming scenes for its upcoming movie, "Hidden Figures," on Monday, March 14, and the Canton Police Department will roll out "intermittent traffic control to ensure the safety of our crew and fellow pedestrians" along West/East Main, Archer and Academy streets.
Those controls (outlined in the above map) include closing Academy Street between West Main Street and to just south of Circle Court.

According to Variety, "Hidden Figures" documents a group of black women who helped NASA with the mathematical data needed to send astronaut John Glenn into space.
The movie stars Taraji P. Henson, Octavia Spencer, Janelle Monae and Kevin Costner. The production in downtown Canton also calls for decorating exterior scenes to match 1960s architecture -- and for anyone in the area to stow away any "modern appliances or vehicles" during the shoot.
"Despite our presence in your neighborhood, you will still be able to access your homes and all businesses will still be open," 20th Century Fox's Locations Department said in a letter to the city. "We will have a private security company present for this reason. We realize that we are guests in your neighborhood and appreciate your cooperation and assistance during our time here."
