Two Cherokee County School District students were named winners in Cherokee County Water and Sewerage Authority's Environmental Education Program 2013 photography contest.

In the kindergarten through sixth-grade category, Bascomb Elementary second-grader Alexandra Porter was crowned the winner while Katrina Basto, a ninth-grader at Woodstock High School won in the seventh through 12th grade category.

Each student was presented with her winning photograph framed and a check for $50 in front of her teachers and peers. CCWSA required the photographs to depict both potential positive and negative impacts on water resources in the community. The winning photographs will be displayed at CCWSA's main office, Hollis Q. Lathem Reservoir and water treatment facilities.
