Unidentified Man Still Nameless, Police Say

The Canton Police Department is interviewing people and working on a forensic sketch to put a name to the body discovered Sunday morning.

Unidentified Man Still Nameless, Police Say

The identity of the man who was found dead behind the Canton Marketplace on Sunday morning remains a mystery, despite a vigorous police investigation.

Canton Police Department Chief Robert Merchant told Canton-Sixes Patch on Wednesday afternoon that several interviews were ongoing in an attempt to discover the identity of the man.

Additionally, Merchant told Patch that forensic sketch artists were working on producing a drawing of the man's face, which should greatly aid in identification. Once the sketch is complete, it will be released to all relevant media outlets.

Though the man's death has been labeled as "suspicious," the autopsy findings will not be available for several weeks, Merchant said.

Merchant confirmed that Canton detectives were in the room with the Medical Examiner when the autopsy was performed, but was unable to provide additional information.
