Bartow County crews made the discovery while battling the blaze overnight Sunday at a home on Hendricks Drive.

CARTERSVILLE, GA -- Bartow County firefighters made a grim discovery early Sunday morning while battling a fire on Hendricks Drive in unincorporated Cartersville.

Crews with the agency received the call of a home on fire around 1:05 a.m. Aug. 7 at the home on the street, which sits off Grassdale Road between U.S. 41/Joe Frank Harris Parkway and S.R. 293.

Firefighters arrived on the scene to find the home "fully involved," with heavy smoke and flames coming from the door and windows of the structure, said Bartow County Fire Chief Craig Millsap.
