Crews Search For Man Who Went Under Water At Allatoona Lake

BARTOW COUNTY, GA -- Emergency personnel are searching for the body of a 21-year-old male who possibly drowned Sunday afternoon in Allatoona Lake at Red Top Mountain in Bartow County.

The call came into the Bartow County 911 center around 1:15 p.m., and recovery efforts at the Red Top Mountain swimming beach area began around 2 p.m. Aug. 20, said Bartow EMS spokesperson Brad Cothran.

The male's body has not been found, Cothran added. Patch has reached out to the Georgia Department of Natural Resources Law Enforcement Division for additional details.
