Car Strikes Tree, Catches Fire in Cartersville
The single vehicle crash was reported Monday evening on Mission Road, and a bystander was able to pull the driver from the vehicle.

CARTERSVILLE, GA -- A motorist was transported late Monday evening to an Atlanta hospital after the vehicle he was driving crashed into a tree and caught fire in Cartersville.
Crews with Bartow EMS, Bartow County Sheriff's Office and Cartersville police and fire responded to the single-vehicle crash on Mission Road around 11 p.m. May 8. They arrived on the scene to find a vehicle engulfed in flames.
A preliminary report suggests the vehicle left the roadway and hit a tree before catching fire, said Bartow EMS spokesperson Brad Cothran.
