Couple Stole More Than $68,000 From Disabled Man: Police
The Cartersville couple used the man's bank account to buy expensive jewelry, electronics and make purchases while vacationing in Florida.

CARTERSVILLE, GA -- A man and woman from Cartersville have each been charged with more than 100 counts of fraud stemming from an investigation dating back to 2015.
Stacey Lanette Yarbrough, 45, and Leonardo Antoine Yarbrough, 42, were arrested Monday and booked into the Bartow County Jail on 133 counts each of financial transaction card fraud, the Bartow County Sheriff's Office said Wednesday.
The sheriff's office was tipped off late last year by a Ringgold attorney, who said his disabled adult client "had been a victim of more than $68,000 of theft from his checking account" during a four-month span last year, the agency said.

The attorney said his client, a Cartersville resident, was previously released from a care facility and came under the care of the Yarbroughs.
The Yarbroughs, the sheriff's office said, operated a group home for men and housed the victim from May to September 2015, which was when the group home location caught fire.

Once the victim's family took custody of the victim, they examined his bank accounts and discovered numerous unauthorized transactions from his account, the sheriff's office said.
The family contacted the attorney, who in turn informed the sheriff's office.
An investigation launched by detectives revealed the Yarbroughs allegedly used the victim's money to pay for items such as car service, expensive jewelry, electronics and to make purchases while vacationing in Florida during the four-month time frame.
Both suspects remain held at the jail on the charges.
