Man Killed in Motorcycle Accident Identified (UPDATED)

The accident occurred late Thursday evening on Old Mill Road at Walnut Grove Road in Cartersville.

CARTERSVILLE, GA -- A Cartersville man is dead following a single-vehicle accident late Thursday evening in Cartersville.

Cartersville police, fire units and crews with Bartow County Emergency Medical Services all responded to the crash around 11:54 p.m. July 7 on Old Mill Road at Walnut Grove Road.

Crews arrived on the scene to find a 41-year-old man unconscious and unresponsive, said Bartow EMS spokesperson Brad Cothran.

Emergency medical response officials began deploying advanced life support protocols and a helicopter was requested for transport. However, that helicopter was cancelled "due to the patient's condition deteriorating," Cothran added.

The man was rushed to Cartersville Medical Center where emergency advanced life support measures continued.

However, the man, who Bartow County Coroner Joel Guyton identified as Thomas Jordan of Cartersville, did not respond to treatment and passed away at the hospital.
