Aggressively Driving Trucker, Speeding on Bald Tires

Check out a few interesting traffic incidents that happened in the past two days in Cartersville or Bartow County.

Aggressively Driving Trucker, Speeding on Bald Tires

Tractor-Trailer Driver Allegedly Runs Woman Off Road

A tractor-trailer driver Monday allegedly tried to run a Rex, GA, woman off the road as she travelled through Bartow County.

James William Geasley Jr., 57, of White Bluff, TN, admitted he "sped up" to the back of the woman's Camry and "let off" several times in an attempt to have her change lanes," about 11:30 p.m., according to the Bartow County Sheriff's Office report.

The woman, 26, continued traveling in the center lane near Adairsville, and Geasley he began "blowing his horn" and "flashing his lights," activity which continued for several minutes until the Camry moved aside.

The alleged victim of aggressive driving said her engine or maintenance light came on and she tried to change lanes when the big rig sped up behind her. She said she got back into the inside lane to see the company name on the truck door, and Geasley "suddenly moved into her lane in attempt to run her off the road."

His answer to that allegation: "I may have wobbled into her lane," according to the deputy. Geasley was arrested and charged with aggressive driving.

Wrong Side of Road for Alleged DUI Driver

In a separate incident, a deputy on patrol about 1:45 a.m. Tuesday spotted a Honda Civic he said turned out of the QuikTrip onto Grassdale Road going the wrong way.

Anthony Mark Hines, 24, of Powder Springs, who later was arrested and jailed, allegedly continued to turn right, then left onto Highway 41.

Hines blew a .189, according to the incident report. He was charged with DUI, open container, driving on the wrong side of the road and driving while unlicensed.

Woman Allegedly Speeds on Bald Tires

In another Monday incident shortly after 1 p.m., a deputy clocked a 1997 Toyota 4Runner allegedly driving 64 in a 45 mph zone along Highway 20, according to the report.

The driver, a 19-year-old Ranger woman, said her license was suspended because she was late paying for a headlight requirements violation for which she was cited in Fairmount. It had cost $166.

The deputy noted the woman's back tires were either bald or had very little tread. Because she was 8 1/2 months pregnant, the deputy released her on citations for speeding, tire requirements and driving on a suspended license.
