Sept. 29 Is Drug Take-Back Day

The Atlanta Police, along with East Point police departments are participating in the Drug Enforcement Administration’s (DEA) National Drug Take-Back Day on Saturday, Sept. 29 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. 

This is an event where citizens can turn in unwanted, unused or expired prescription drugs so they can be safely disposed of.  

Residents of SW Atlanta area can take old prescription drugs to these locations.

  • Atlanta Police Department Zone Precincts. (whichever is closest to you)
  • East Point Police Department at 2727 East Point Street.

    In April 2012, citizens turned in a record-breaking 552,161 pounds (276 tons) of unwanted or expired medications for safe and proper disposal at the 5,659 take-back sites that were available in all 50 states and U.S. territories, according to the police departments.
